the body wants to move. it is part of the big fabric that is moving and being moved. the body moves because there are others moving. they are saying powerful things and moving what moves. the body is responding, it is in the dialectic evolving of something forthcoming. it is conjuring entropy. it is forcing sabotage.
the body aches to make lines that cut across a room or a field. lines that define place for an instant, lines that offer something or nothing. lines that partition seamless space and revamp the architecture of the hard, soft and invisible. the body wants to place itself and move from place with a specific velocity and qualitative endurance.
performance is the body addressing power. performance is the body transcended to places the witness perceives. performance is the documentation of change. the body performs a kaleidoscope of actions and non-actions, gesticulations, deep listening and a well tuned instrument.
the body is interested in itself, other, the guts, the mundane, the mysterious and the divine.
I am, you are the body. I am, you are not the body.
